The Battle of the Hair Growth Topical Solutions
TRX2 and HR23+ are two of the most popular brands in the hair loss treatment industry, with an array of products between them. Launched in 2011, TRX2 bases its formula on the science of potassium channels, whereas HR23+, brought to market in 2014, bases its formula on the combination of DHT blockers and hair growth agents.
Both brands are designed to prevent hair loss and encourage healthy hair growth in men and women. Here, we rate the topical solutions of each brand and see how they compare to one another.
Potency and Safety
Both brands use a blend of ingredients that stay consistent to their respective supplement forms. TRX2 continues the potassium theory, whereas HR23+ uses its tried and trusted use of Saw Palmetto, blended in with the potent KGF formula.
Both products are safe to use, however, we would give TRX2 the slight edge on safety, as HR23+ does contain Saw Palmetto, which should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Both products are still relatively new to the market (TRX2 lotion was released in 2016, and HR23+ serum was released in 2015), so it is hard to get an accurate performance rate for each product.
However, both topical serums are big sellers, and both totally unique to the market. It will only be a matter of time before we get a broad range of customer reviews and user testimonials.
Both topical solutions fall into the higher price bracket, from £30-£50 per bottle, depending on how many bottles you buy (multi-pack deals work out cheaper). However, the unproven TRX2 lotion is more expensive than the popular serum by HR23+, by nearly £10 per bottle.
More testing and feedback is needed for accurate results on the topical lotion for TRX2, although HR23+ also needs more testing and feedback, therefore this is inconclusive. We would give HR23+ the edge on this one though, due to it containing ingredients that have been proven to work.
From gathering feedback from online hair loss communities and forums, as well as the testimonials from each website, TRX2 lotion has a positive feedback score of around 61%, whereas HR23+ serum has a positive score of around 72%.
HR23+ serum wins this battle by a comfortable margin of 5-1, due to its feedback, ingredients and performance. However, the comparison was much closer than the final score suggests, and it should be noted that results do vary with each individual, so both topical solutions are good options to try for sufferers of early stages of baldness and thinning hair.
Both brands are at the higher end of the price-range, but you could argue it is great value for your money if they prove to be successful. The most important aspect of these brands is that they are both safe and free from major side-effects.
